2024 Chevrolet Trax
The Chevrolet Trax hit the market in the U.S. in 2015, and it proved that Chevy knew what it was doing when it came to subcompact SUVs. After Chevy briefly discontinued it in 2022, the Trax is back with a bang, and the 2024 model comes packed with exciting new features and all the latest in infotainment. The impressive 2024 Trax gets a modern makeover and comes with even more trims and configurations.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
After bringing the Trex back for the 2024 year, Chevy decided to give it a few new trim options. Joining the LS, 1RS, and LT in the lineup are the 2RS and ACTIV trims. Each features an array of stunning new colors ranging from Mosaic Black Metallic to Harvest Bronze Metallic. The muscular ACTIV rides on 18-inch black aluminum wheels, and it gets a black grille and its own distinctive badging. The lower trims get 17- or 19-inch wheels and their own sleek exterior designs. All trims include the iconic Chevy logo, and black bowtie emblems, LED lighting, and heated outside mirrors are available on certain models.
Engine (Power)
Powering the Trax is a refined 1.2-liter inline-three engine paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. The efficient yet responsive engine is able to produce 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque. The same engine sits under the hood of the Chevy Trailblazer.
Performance
The Trax offers fine-tuned handling, and there's enough damping to keep the body roll in check on windier roads. It provides a smooth ride quality thanks to its longer wheelbase. While the engine is far from Chevy's most powerful, it provides plenty of power to accelerate onto busy freeways and pass other vehicles.
Interior
Chevy widened the Trax for 2024 to offer more room, increasing the cargo area to offer 54.1 total cubic feet of space. It comfortably seats up to five, and the 60/40 split-folding second-row seats make it possible to enjoy a little extra storage space. Thanks to Chevy's signature noise cancellation system, driver and passengers can enjoy a quieter, more serene cabin. A push-button start, an automatic climate control system, and wireless phone charging are just a few of the new available features Chevy added to the Trax. Chevy also upgraded the Trax's interior to make it more tech-centered. While an 8-inch digital display comes standard, it's possible to upgrade to a bigger 11-inch diagonal touch-screen. Both versions are highly intuitive and offer drivers easy access to a variety of convenience features.
Safety Features
The Trax has the full Chevy Safety Assist suite of features, which include a forward collision alert system with automatic emergency braking, a front pedestrian braking system, and a lane-keeping assistance system with lane departure warning capabilities. Its following distance indicator also helps keep the SUV at a safe distance when on especially busy highways. All trims include an array of available advanced safety features. These include blind-spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control. Lane change alert, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear park assist systems are also available for a little extra peace of mind.
